The last few years have seen a huge technological shift, one consequence of which is that we no longer operate a traditional darkroom, which has repercussions on the amount of space we need.
In the past, sound business practice was to retain all negatives for ten years. But being cautious we have filed and stored every negative taken since 1978! We have now come to the point however, where we will run out of space, especially as we plan to downsize shortly.
This leads to a once-only offer to all pre 2006 wedding photography clients.
We are offering you the chance to purchase your wedding pictures, as either negatives, or on CD or DVD, @ £30 plus VAT (£35.25) which will allow you to safely archive them yourselves, not only for the immediate future, but for generations to come to enjoy. Weddings prior to 2002 are likely to be negative only, weddings after 2002 may be neg/digital, or digital archived on CD or DVD.
Video
After more than 25 years, Hazel is now no longer undertaking video, but many clients are likely to have their wedding on VHS tape.
Post 1998 clients we can re-master the digital master tape and produce a DVD of infintely higher quality than VHS. We have some pre-1998 S-VHS tapes, which can be remastered @£135 (It takes a long time), then DVDs made @ £35
We have always retained video master tapes for 3 years, after which we have offered them to clients before they are re-used. To help with our storage predicament, we now offer all wedding clients the chance to buy their master tape. Post 1998 are Digital (£30), Pre 1998 (if still available) are S-VHS (£5). This will help you to future-proof the video. Whilst we won't have the equipment, it may be possible to have the tapes made into High Definition format Blu-Ray DVDs or other formats.
Our storage problem means that this is a one-off offer, which can’t be repeated. Most of our video equipment has already been sold and we plan to sell the very expensive remastering equipment in the near future.
